ARCHITECTURE:
The intern will work on a number of projects related to the architecture field in which they are specializing. These fields can be: planning, design and production of drawings, interior and exterior remodelling, construction, supervision and civil works in general. The Intern could acquire these skills: Presentation skills, model making, the design process, translating the client’s needs and the architects design ideas into a visual format, organising and preparing for meetings and presentations, project work and management skills.

LAW:
This internship is for those Interns who are interested in a career in the notoriously competitive legal profession. A placement with a well respected firm of solicitors could be just what your CV resume needs to make it stand out! We can arrange legal placements for Law Students and Recent Graduates in areas of Civil and Commercial Law, Real Estate Law, Labour Law, Tributary Law, Corporate Law, Mining and Oil Law, Financial, Banking and Insurance Law, Intellectual property, Merger and Acquisitions, Foreign Investment and Transfer of Technology. This will allow you to gain a unique insight in to the day-to- day practice of the law. Interns will learn a great deal about the legal system. They will also have the possibility to attend Trials to see in the Court what has previously been studied. Interns would go along with their supervisor. Depending on your enthusiasm and your aptitude to learn new things, you will participate in: preparing, checking and revising legal documents, to accompany to your supervisor and clients to court, interviewing clients, etc. It is highly likely that you will assist staff attorneys in legal research, preparation of legal documents, and direct work with clients. The teams of lawyers are very dynamic and they always have much work. For that reason the participants will be able to learn a great deal in just a short time. This is a great opportunity for Interns to see with their own eyes what is happening in the real world. Interns will prepare written descriptions of client needs and correspondence and will assist the lawyers as required Skills you could acquire: How to fill out basic paperwork, how to stand up in court and address judge, legal writing, office administrative skills, investigative skills, legal and strategic knowledge and interpersonal skills.

MEDICINE:
Our medical Internships are designed for those who wish to work in a medical environment. We can provide non-academic work programmes that will provide specific work experience in Ecuador and offer a huge potential to upgrade your CV with valuable International exposure. Within the 'medical' areas, we normally have the following options: Ophthalmology, Surgery, Oncology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Dental Health, Neurology, Paediatrics, Emergency and many other different medical fields. It is important to be aware that Interns do not have medical responsibilities. These placements are usually for intense observation of how a job is performed in a specific specialisation. Depending on the placement, Interns will have the opportunity to assist the doctors (determined by their enthusiasm and their aptitude to learn new things) and will be able to receive hands-on experience of administering care to the Ecuadorian people. We base our Internship programmes in a medical clinic, public or privates hospitals, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes or NGOs. Skills intern could acquire: Ability to effectively communicate history, context, and analysis of current problems, capacity to work well with people of all cultural, education and socio-economic backgrounds, ability to work independently and handle multiple related tasks and projects and gain considerable experience on your medical field.

MEDIA & JOURNALISM:
We have some exciting media Internships in Ecuador for those Interns or students who are interested in gaining a valuable practical experience in an honourable media host-company or newspaper. Depending on your specialty, you can work as a reporter, editor, photographer, broadcaster, or graphic designer. You'll work side-by-side with the regular staff, gathering stories, researching, taking photos, writing pieces, going into the field, coming up with your own story ideas, projects, etc. Interns will be in an Ecuadorian culture and work environment. Skills you could acquire: How work in an international system of media or journalism, work with the staff member in a well respected newspaper or broadcasting, gain practical experience in the different areas of journalism or media.

AGRICULTURE AND THE NATURAL RESOURCES:
In Ecuador we have numerous organic and non-organic farms where an Intern could be placed. This kind of Internships investigates the development of agriculture and the natural resources on a variety of settings and the impact of technology and other tools on ecosystem processes and how human activities impact the Earth's environment on a global scale. This program take place in a normal farm where chemical fertilisers and pesticides are used or in an eco-farm where organic fertilisers are used and pesticides are made of chilli pepper, jalapeno pepper, etc., and depending of the eco-system, it is possible to be placed in the coastal lowland, highland or even on the Galapagos Islands. Skills you could acquire: Knowledge about collecting data and using scientific principles to solve problems, learn to protect the environment and improving the quality of life, improving your knowledge in the life sciences, knowledge of social and environmental interactions as well as communication and group work skills.

COMPUTERS:
The objective of this Internship is to offer students the possibility of developing their academic knowledge and professional skills in an IT company. If the Intern is studying Computer Science, he or she can participate in an Internship in areas such as research and development, technology and design, web hosting, database and software development, technical support, etc. Skills you could acquire: How to research, develop, test and revise software products, skills and knowledge about web based programming, teamwork, project management and how to identify client specific goals, a comprehensive understanding of operations requirements and processes, conducting programming projects and company/product evaluations as well as preparing presentations, skills and knowledge about teamwork, client communication and how to collect and analyze requirements. You will develop professional, business and interpersonal skills as well as learn about useful methodologies.

EDUCATION:
The Intern should develop and implement a comprehensive plan aimed at meeting the educational needs of various groups or individuals. While no specific skills are required, a willingness to learn about community resources and work in a team is essential you will liaise with classroom staff, design and implement lessons/plans/activities for other members of the project. Besides, you will also have the opportunity to teach languages such as: English, French, etc. Teaching English is a fun, rewarding, and worthwhile experience. In this programme, you will teach English at either a public or private school, depending on demands at the time of the work. Most of the time, interns in teaching projects work as instructors. These English teachers are more than welcome to participate in other school activities, such as sports or health programmes during their time at the school. It is not necessary that Intern comes from an English-speaking country in order to become a teaching Intern, although is highly recommended. We welcome Interns that have a working knowledge of English, as well as the desire to share their knowledge with students who are eager to learn. Skills you could acquire: Ability to motivate students to learn, ability to make critical observations, ability to improve communication skills, creativity and organisational skills and develop your interest and ability in teaching/training.

ENGINEERING:
The Intern will work on a number of projects related to the field in which they are specialising or specialised. Students should select Internships that are consistent with their interests and goals. There is a wide variety of Ecuadorian companies in which the Interns would be creative and enthusiastic engineers. Impact of technology and other tools on ecosystem processes and how human activities impact the Earth’s environment on a global scale. Supervised professional experiences in agencies and businesses related to a student's major fields of studies. Skills you could acquire: Knowledge about collecting data and using scientific principles to solve problems, communication skills, enhancing organisational and administrative capability, analytical, competency, teamwork, industry functional knowledge and adaptability, room acoustic design methods, construction methods, how to price the estimate, how to read a 'blue print', construction details for drawings and installation, client relations, management of crew in addition to how plan and execute manufacturing processes.

ENVIRONMENT SCIENCE:
These Internships will acquaint the Intern with the normal operations of a preserved natural environment and allow Interns to participate in on-going research projects in the Ecuadorian community and ecosystem ecology, conservation biology, animal behaviour, animal care, environmental education and evolution. Interns have the possibility to help to staff of Institutions, Public or Private reserves and NGOs dedicated to the preservation the environment. Skills you could acquire: Working with people from diverse backgrounds, and a range of ages in an outdoor setting, extended knowledge on biology, ecology, environmental studies, environmental science, forestry or a related field, familiarity with, or desire to learn, local flora and fauna and the ability to handle several different projects simultaneously.
SOCIAL WORK: Interns will work with other human rights activists and people who want a better world. Self-motivation, creativity, cooperation, open mindedness and an idea of what is 'community service', together with unlimited enthusiasm are key characteristics of a successful Internship - and they are required. We will help Interns refine their ideas and make it happen. The time they commit to the project, their ideas and their energy are greatly appreciated. It is indeed these contributions which are responsible for the continued success of the projects. Placements are available in different non-profit institutions and NGOs; Parent Associations, social government agencies, civil defence, consumer, citizen's advice bureau and youth information offices. You could also be helping people with social/economic difficulties, kids with disabilities, service to elderly and orphan communities, child care co-ordination, service to youngsters, public hospital assistants, legal humanitarian assistance for women, legal assistance for immigrants, aids organization, etc. Skills you could acquire: Gain practical experience under professional supervision, develop the ability to work with people of different backgrounds, compare theories and concepts learned in the classroom and related real life experiences, creative problem solving abilities and the acquisition of an extended understanding on the ethics in social work.

PSYCHOLOGY:
Opportunities exist with Ecuadorian corporations, non-profit organisations, schools, hospitals, government agencies, etc. Internships are available in: Clinical/mental health settings, for example, drug intervention programmes, treatment centres for children, programmes for the homeless. You might also be placed in a Health or developmental setting, for example, a nursing home, Red Cross administration, Planned Parenthood group, Industrial/organisational psychology (personnel, human resources, selection and training). Interns should select internships that are consistent with their interests and goals. This kind of Internships is ideal for people who enjoy working in a team. These join together and make a unique environment for tourism in Ecuador's four distinct regions: Andean Highlands, Coastal Lowlands, Amazon Region and the Galapagos Islands. The Intern will work on a number of projects, helping with the day to day running of the business of the placement. Interested individuals would be expected to exhibit patience, dependability, creativity and flexibility. The Intern will assist in organising events, meetings, etc. Skills you could acquire: Marketing of specific areas, advertising strategies for the areas, co-operative advertising and marketing, organisational skills, event marketing, travel booking and reservation skills, administration skills, accounting skills, retail sales skills and customer service skills. You may even gain unique knowledge of all aspects of operating a small hotel, service and quality standards, management and leadership skills, coaching and counselling skills, organisation and problem solving abilities, how to organise theme parties, professional behaviour skills, knowledge of POS, computer systems, communication and interpersonal skills.

MARKETING:
Interns placed in this area would assist organisations to build on their core strengths, develop a stronger brand message, and capitalise on a unique market opportunity. Interns will learn aspects of public relations and marketing in small companies: event management membership, programme marketing, direct mailing, grants, sponsorships, marketing ventures and newsletter production, research, analyze and monitor market trends in a competitive environment, review and prepare mailing lists. For those who want to work in PR (public relations), that is also possible. Skills you could acquire: Research needed for marketing brands, how to develop long range plans, work with other departments/teamwork, general knowledge of specific industry (for example, publishing), teamwork, how to make a positive impact on the recognition and sales of a product, marketing process, interacting with clients, knowledge of marketing within a global company, analyzing skills, promotion and advertising skills, communication and interpersonal skills, research and administrative skills, export marketing and management skills, pricing, promotion and after sales.
