We offer a 12 week experience, 25 day experience and accelerated seven day programme. Each course takes a maximum of 12 participants with two rangers acting as tutors, guides and mentors. The courses cover a wide variety of topics, experiences and practical tasks. Some of the highlights are:
♦Game ranger training, tracker skills & bush survival - a two week course on arrival with practical skills such as 4x4 driving, shooting and safe handling of rifles, bush survival skills.
♦Animal veterinary assistance in a wilderness environment.
♦Specialist courses - a real highlight and include things like predator tracking, anti-poaching, birding, reptiles, animal rehabilitation. Numerous visits are made off property and we invite acclaimed specialists to visit us.
♦Game counting from the air using microlight aircraft and on land by 4x4.
♦Camping trips to world famous Kruger National Park and neighbouring Mozambique.
♦Adventure activities such as caving, abseiling, bridge swinging, white water tubing.
♦Elephant back safari & elephant interaction - currently held on a neighbouring property. This is a chance to get really close and help in day to day elephant activities.
♦Visits and introductions to local village chiefs and Sangoma's (witch doctors) plus cultural experience at the Matsumo Village.
♦Learn how to safely handle a 4x4 vehicle on our rugged terrain.
Of course, not everything is as exciting as the examples above. Day to day field work also includes less glamorous tasks like bush clearing, repairing fences, preparing fire breaks and road repairs.
